The M.A.P. Defensive Tactics System was designed based on years of field experience and training by Sgt. Lorinzo McCoy and Mr. Bill Wegener. The two combine for over 20 years experience in Military and Police Defensive Tactics, along with holding 3rd degree black belts in the Martial Art of Hapkido. Hapkido, in addition to being the chosen combat system for Korea's Military and Law Enforcement community, is also the preferred Martial Art for our U.S. Military and many Law Enforcement officers. It has recently been chosen by the U.S. 3rd Special Forces Group at Fort Bragg, North Carolina as the Martial Art that most closely meets their overall technique criteria for hand-to-hand (combative) fighting.
It is not the intent of the M.A.P. System to make the practitioner a Martial Artist, but to give the Service Member or Peace Officer the tools needed to complete any mission in a field environment where rules pertaining to use of force apply. As the Military transistions into a seemingly increasing policing role abroad, and Peace Officers have more and more restraints placed on them, the use of modern Defensive Tactics becomes more relevant.
Our mission is to deliver the most practical and effective methods of unarmed controlling, take-down, weapon retention, and weapon defense techniques to today's Military and Law Enforcement community. The techniques we teach are easy to learn and proven to be truly effective in real life applications.
MAPDT courses are available to and recommended for individuals in the following categories (but not limited to only these categories):
Active Law Enforcement officers (City, County, State, Federal, etc…)
In addition to the categories listed above, the MAPDT course is also intended for another group that we consider instrumental to the teaching and promoting of sound Military and Police DT programs: Martial Arts instructors. While most Martial Art instructors claim to teach PDT, only a small percentage possess the expertise and in-depth knowledge to address the specific needs and unique demands of the Law Enforcement community, not to mention the understanding of legal, social and moral issues involved.
